Glyconutrients Site with Scientific and Medical Citations.

I love this page on glyconutrients.

The site displays content that is similar (I agree to that) as that of other sites on glyconutrients. What sets this one apart, though, is the references displayed at the bottom of each educational page. For example, the glyconutrients page has citations from (and/or links to):

  • McMurry, John. Organic Chemistry. 7e. Belmont, CA: Thompson Higher Education, 2008 (a text book)
  • WebMD. “D-xylose Absorption Test.”
  • PubMed Central. “Characterizing Glycosylation Pathways.”
  • BioChemWeb.org. “Carbohydrates and Glycosylation.”
  • Panneerselvam, K.. “Human Fibroblasts Prefer Mannose over Glucose as a Source of Mannose for N-Glycosylation.” The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Inc Volume 272, Number 37 12 Sep, 1997 pp. 23123-23129
  • Mayer A-M. “Historical Changes in the Mineral Content of Fruits and Vegetables,”
  • Christian J. “Charts: Nutrient Changes in Vegetables and Fruits, 1951 to 1999.” CTV.ca News 2002
  • Davis DR, Epp MD, Riodan HD. “Changes in USDA Food Composition for 43 Garden Crops, 1950 to 1999.”

The information on glyconutrients and other subjects that the site provides is incredibly valuable given that it is based fully on scientific and medical research. And it has the citations and links to verify that.
